SIENNA REID | SIENNA REID ~ PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS | Large Paintings

In this series of large paintings I am exploring human drama and the setting of the stage in the form of an artificial man-made setting or in nature. A whole range of emotions come to play- from anger, horror and pain to bewilderment, meditation and contemplation. Some of these paintings relate directly to Rome with obviously references such as the fontanella, cobblestones or the Coliseum, while others bring in nature in the form of grass, water, or animals. These are some of the things I think of in the city. The madness of traffic, the lack of grass and space, the threat of rising waters. There is also love, betrayal, and the desire for revenge.
